Mackenzie Luikart was named the director of operations for the West Virginia University gymnastics team in June 2022.
Previously serving as a graduate assistant with the WVU gymnastics team, Luikart’s roles include managing day-to-day operational tasks, coordinating season travel and helping organize the team’s summer camps and on-campus recruiting efforts.
Luikart also is charged with managing the operational aspects of hosted competitions and championships, including coordinating with judges, volunteers and other meet staff.
Prior to WVU, Luikart spent three years serving as a competitive gymnastics coach at the Gymnastics Academy of Charleston in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, from 2018-20. While there, she helped coach preschool and Levels 2-7.
A native of Florence, South Carolina, Luikart earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the College of Charleston in 2019. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in sport management at WVU’s College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.
