Lindsey Brinza

Lindsey Brinza joined West Virginia University’s athletic training staff in the summer of 2022 and currently serves as the athletics trainer for Mountaineer women’s soccer and women's tennis.

Brinza’s responsibilities include day-to-day care, rehabilitation and injury prevention.

She arrived at WVU after spending a year as an injury prevention specialist at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin. With Amazon, she performed body mechanic assessments to reduce injuries, assisted onsite medical representatives in educating associates on injury prevention and served as a liaison between associates and other health or safety staff members.

Before working at Amazon, she served as a licensed athletic trainer at the University of Wisconsin from 2016-20, working with women’s soccer, swimming and diving, crew and others. Brinza spent three of her four years at Wisconsin with the women’s soccer program, managing daily care of student-athletes to provide rehabilitation programs, performing injury evaluations and communicating with the coaching staff to provide guidance on student-athlete injuries.

While at Wisconsin, she developed and implemented an ACL preventative program in coordination with performance lab staff and strength staff. She also served as a preceptor for students in the Wisconsin Athletic Training Education Program.

Prior to her time at Wisconsin, Brinza’s resume also includes stops at Lincoln Memorial University (2015-16), Appalachian State University (2012-15) and Miami University (Ohio) where she began her athletic training career as a graduate assistant while completing her graduate degree.

Brinza received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin in 2010 and her master’s degree in sport studies with an emphasis in sport behavior and performance from Miami University (Ohio) in 2012. A native of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Brinza currently resides in Morgantown.
