Jaren Olson

Jaren Olson joined the West Virginia University athletic training staff in September 2022 and currently serves as the athletics trainer for WVU’s wrestling program. 

Olson arrives in Morgantown after spending the last two years working at St. Cloud State University, first as a graduate assistant (2020-2021), before transitioning into a full-time role as an associate athletic trainer and providing coverage for softball, women’s cross country and track and field, and the five-time NCAA and 16-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship wrestling program, including being alongside the last Huskie team to win it all in 2021. 

Prior to making the jump to college athletics, the Bismarck, North Dakota, native worked for Sanford Health, where he simultaneously took on the roles of athletic trainer for Wachter Middle School and Simle Middle School, while aiding as the assistant athletic trainer at Bismarck High School.  

Throughout this time, Olson also had the opportunity to serve as an assistant athletic trainer at a variety of USA Wrestling events, as well as the Gopher Wrestling Club under the University of Minnesota brand. 

Olson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Mary in 2019, where he played on both the offensive line and defensive line as a four-year member of the U-Mary football program. The NSIC Academic All-Conference athlete continued his educational journey by remaining in-conference and completing a master’s degree in sport management from St. Cloud State in May of 2022.
