MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
Eight Mountaineers from the West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the College Sports Communicators 2023-24 Academic All-District Teams.
"Congratulations to these eight individuals," head coach
Vic Riggs said. "It is a huge honor to be named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. It's nice to see their hard work in and out of the pool be recognized. "
Sophomores
Abigail Sullivan,
Mia Cheatwood,
Ada Szwabinska and junior
Sarah Krusinski were recognized on the women's team.
Sophomore
Max Nielsen, juniors
Hayden Apel and
Jake Young and senior
Justin Heimes were selected to the men's team.
To be selected, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 cumulative undergraduate or graduate GPA and compete in a minimum of four competitions or finish top eight at a conference championship meet. Freshmen are not eligible to be selected.
