Green Leads After 18 Holes at The Hootie

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University junior golfer Max Green leads the field after shooting 5-under-par in the first round of The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, South Carolina.
 
A native of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Green recorded seven birdies for the low round of 67 at Bulls Bay Golf Club. He has a two-stroke lead over Connor Gaunt of LSU and Max Dupree of College of Charleston.
 
After 18 holes, the Mountaineers shot Even par and are in fifth place out of 15 teams. LSU leads the tournament at 4-under-par.
 
Senior Jackson Davenport is tied for 22nd place at +1, while fifth-year senior Trent Tipton and senior Will Stakel are tied for 31st place at +2. Junior Todd Duncan shot 80 in the first round.
